Juliet Walshe
I am a painter concerned with the materiality and physicality of paint, colour and mark-making. I like to build up layers with glazes on top of oil paint, which in turn sit on a variety of materials such as sand, plaster, soil, twigs, grass and leaves. I have also used photography, video and basic printmaking techniques.
My work is about my emotional and visual response to and being in landscape and my attempt to record these encounters based on sensory perceptions including sound, smell and touch, rather than just sight. Currently, I am drawn to working on collaborative and collective projects and I am curious about exploring ways of making work other than with paint. |
About CMR
__CMR is an artist-led
initiative designed to create a community of artists who will exhibit
and flourish within this three storey building. It is a voluntary-run organisation and project. We aim to be all
inclusive; we aim to encourage adventurous work that will respond and
challenge not only to CMR’s various spaces but also the broader
Contemporary Art landscape of Cornwall.
