"All men should desire to live most happily, and should know that they can not so live in any other way than by cultivating the soul, and yet leave the soul uncultivated
Apuleius, at the end of ‘God of Socrates’ In this body of work I am exploring aspects of masculinity and sexuality, in particular moments of intimate thoughts and man as the sexual being; the voyeur, the object of pleasure, the predator, the lover. I used myself as a starting point but as the work developed I became more and more intrigued by what it means to all men to be male. Not a fantasy or the cliché of being a man but the more private thoughts that our gender provokes. |
