CMR presents... TR-FIFTEEN

After opening its doors in March of this year, Redruth based Contemporary Art initiative CMR has already garnered a reputation for its presentation of engaging and thought provoking contemporary art exhibitions. Continuing in this tradition the third show from CMR, TR-Fifteen, opens at the Redruth venue on Friday 15 June.

TR-Fifteen has a simple manifesto and that is to show the work of a selection of contemporary artists working in Redruth today. Rather than a historically charged survey of the area this is an opportunity to embrace the present and showcase the work of some extremely exciting artists working within the TR15 postcode.

With the likes of Krowji, Back Lane West and CMR all based in the town and supporting the contemporary visual arts there is definitely a breath of fresh positive energy circulating amongst the town’s resident artists and this show aims to capture that spirit with this collection of diverse and exciting work.

The show will feature works from sound installation artist Dom Allen, painters Chris Anthem, Charmaine Honeychurch and Duncan Hopkins, installations from Liam Jolly, Lee McIntyre and Alice Mahoney plus sculptural interventions from artist George Meyrick and more.

TR-Fifteen hopes to build on the success of CMR’s last show, Save Our Placards! and continue to showcase the CMR vision of exhibiting adventurous work that not only responds to the buildings physical spaces but that’s also flexible in its attitude towards mixing and crossing forms in presenting a thought provoking, exciting and engaging show.

To coincide with the towns Murdoch Day celebrations there will be a special evening viewing/social event on Saturday 16 June from 6pm – 9pm that will be followed by CMR’s first music event to be held at the popular Redruth venue Gaslights from 9.15pm and will feature live performances from Redruth based bands Hanterhir, Mister Postman and Gareth Lee. Admission to both is free and all are welcome

TR-Fifteen will be open Fri/Sat/Sun 15, 16, 17 and again the following week 22, 23, 24 June
